Nipple Watering System

May 13, 2026 · Updated 2026-05-13 · ☕ 1 min read · Production / colony · Editor rating 4.5/5

White rabbit in a farm setting

A pressure-regulated nipple line delivers clean water all day and scales from a single cage to a whole colony.

Why we recommend it

Open bowls tip, foul and grow algae; a nipple line keeps water clean and cuts daily labour to a quick check. With a regulator it runs leak-free, and one manifold can serve twenty or more rabbits — a huge time saver for larger setups.

What to look for

  • A pressure regulator to prevent leaks and drips.
  • Stainless nipples that rabbits learn to use quickly.
  • A line length and fitting size that match your layout.

Setup notes

There is a short learning curve — make sure new rabbits find and use the nipple before you remove any backup bowl. Check nipples weekly for sticking and flush the line periodically. In freezing weather, add a heated option or drain the line overnight.
